There are plenty of games for families, whereas games for 6 players are not that easy to find - and games that are good for two players as well as 6, and have short, simple rules, are very rare.

Stein im Brett is such a game. The big cotton bag contains playing pieces in 6 colors. In the two-player game, each player has 3 colors. With three players, each player gets 2 colors; and with 4 to 6 players, only one color is assigned and scored per player.

All pieces are always in play - this is important, since it takes all playing pieces to completely fill the gameboard exactly three times. After each round, a scoring takes place. Players get victory points only for playing pieces that don't have a neighboring piece in the same color.

Since the playing pieces are drawn blind out of the bag, lively discussions will occur where to place a particular piece.
This makes an entertaining game for families and among friends, providing equal chances for children and adults.
